When the word “hair" comes to mind, the first thing we think of is “transplantation" and when we talk about transplantation, we should mention the best in this field, Hair Time Turkey!
Hair transplantation consists of three steps: 1. shaving, 2. harvesting and 3. However, these steps may differ a little from procedure to procedure, depending on the case and degree of hair loss.
There are many hair transplant procedures, most of them are FUT, FUE, DHI and the Sapphire FUE hair transplant. All these procedures can be applied to any part of the head that suffers from patchiness, be it the scalp, eyebrows or beard.
We believe that the patient will feel more comfortable if they know exactly what will happen during the hair transplant procedure. Therefore, read on to learn the steps of this procedure in a simple but detailed way.
Preparation is one of the keys to the success of a procedure and the first key. Preparing for the procedure paves the way and makes the next steps much easier and smoother. There are a few steps you need to follow to make sure you are on the right path to better results and a comfortable recovery.
On the day of the procedure, the doctor starts shaving the donor area and the recipient area if the FUE method is agreed upon, and only the donor area if the DHI method is used.
- Anesthesia
Hair transplantation is painless thanks to local anesthesia. After shaving, the doctor injects a local anesthetic to numb the donor area while harvesting the grafts. So the patient will feel literally nothing during this part of the procedure. Later, before implantation begins, the doctor injects an anesthetic syringe into the recipient area and begins implanting.
- Graft Collection
Shaving the donor area helps the doctor get a better look at the follicles. The Micro HD power tool is used to reach the graft under the skin and a special tool is used to pluck it outside the skin. Then, the randomly harvested grafts are kept in a physiological solution to protect them from damage. After a 15- to 30-minute break, implant preparation begins.
- Opening Channels
After the collection, the physician moves to the recipient area where the implantation takes place. The doctor begins injecting anesthetics into the area until it is ready for the next step, which is to open channels in the recipient area, either with regular blades or sapphire blades, which are smoother and sharper and allow for perfect cuts. The channels are opened according to the depth and number of grafts.
- Hair Implantation
Once the channels are opened, the physician begins inserting (i.e., implanting) the harvested grafts, one at a time, according to the agreed-upon hairline shape and the required number of grafts per square centimeter.
FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction and it’s a procedure that helps people suffering from baldness and severe hair loss to regain their hair and self-confidence.
FUE hair transplantation consists of 3 main steps: shaving, extraction and implantation. After the donor area is prepared for extraction, the hair grafts are taken one by one and manually implanted into the recipient area.
Shaving: The doctor shaves the donor area and prepares it by injecting local anesthesia to prevent pain sensation.
Harvesting: Once the physician is satisfied that the anesthetic has numbed the area, holes are opened with the MHD device to remove the grafts and transplant them to their new spot.
Grafting: The grafts are implanted manually, one at a time, into the recipient area. Implantation takes place after the implantation area has been prepared by injecting anesthesia and opening the receiving channels.
The DHI hair transplant procedure means direct hair implantation, which means that the harvested grafts are implanted directly without the need of preparing the recipient area or opening channels in the scalp. This is done with the help of the Choi Implanter Pen, which implants the grafts directly among the existing hair.
The Sapphire FUE hair transplant procedure is just like FUE hair transplant, the only difference is that normal blades are used in FUE hair transplant, but Sapphire FUE hair transplant uses sapphire blades, which are specially made and are smoother and sharper, causing less tissue damage compared to the other blades.
